No, I’m not in New York.
Instead, I am in the Land Down Under and I am spending the holiday season in Sydney.
This is the first time I celebrated Christmas away from the family, and outside of the Philippines, so I was a bit lonely.
I was spending Christmas eve at a pub in Sydney Central, and my feeling of homesickness melted away a bit as the clock strikes 12 on Christmas day, and everyone around me started singing the ubiquitous “Fairy Tale of New York”, one of the most popular Christmas songs in the UK and in Australia. It is also one of the most popular Christmas Songs in the 21st century.
